Scott Segell
Vice President – Client Services
Scott joined Vocada in October 2005. As leader of Vocada's Professional Services division, Scott has assisted literally scores of hospitals across the country – hospitals of all shapes and sizes – in implementing Critical Test Result Management. His mission is to ensure that Veriphy customers receive best-in-class implementation support and employ Best Practices for the communication of Critical Test Results. Scott and his team also develop methodologies for continuous improvement at Veriphy sites.
Scott speaks frequently to hospital and physician audiences about the value of CTRM as a strategic pathway to enhanced patient safety, better patient outcomes and increased staff productivity. He points out that until just a few years ago, CTRM technology did not exist. Now that a proven solution is available, he says, hospitals and physicians cannot afford to ignore the problem. He also has found that the process of implementing CTRM forces hospitals to re-examine their policies and practices and in some cases re-engineer their systems to make them more efficient and better for patient care.
Scott also plays a key role in developing Vocada's strategic alliances. In this area, he is involved in establishing contact, defining the partnership agreement, and integrating the technologies.
Before joining Vocada, Scott was a Managing Director for Hunt Ventures, LP. His responsibilities included sourcing and evaluating investment opportunities, along with acting as liaison for certain domestic fund investments. Scott led investments in and represented Hunt as an observer on the boards of Antenna Software and Softricity. He was Hunt's representative for its investments in Boston-based Polaris Venture Partners Fund III and IV and Dallas-based STARTech Early Ventures.
Scott also held a wide range of positions in information technology; most recently as a Director with Gen3 Partners. Prior to Gen3, Scott was the National Director of Application Management for Cambridge Technology Partners. In addition, he consulted with Diamond Technology Partners, was the Data Center Manager for Boston Chicken and a Project Manager for BSG. He began his career with Accenture (formerly Andersen Consulting).
Scott earned a BBA in Finance from The University of Texas at Austin and pursued advanced studies in Entrepreneurial Management from Southern Methodist University's Caruth Institute. While at Texas, Scott also was an Executive Council Member of the Silver Spurs Honorary Service Organization.
