Brenner to Address Communications Issues, Advances at Radiology CME Seminar Nov. 7 at Dallas VA Medical Center
Problems, Errors, Delays Plague Radiological Communications
Dallas, TX, Oct. 27, 2003 – James Brenner, MD, JD, FACR, a leading expert and frequent speaker on radiological issues, will lead a CME seminar, "Getting the Diagnosis Right is Only Half the Battle: Issues and Advances in Radiological Communications," 12:00 to 1:00 p.m., Nov. 7, 2003 at the Dallas Veterans Affairs Medical Center.
The seminar, which counts for one hour of Ethics CME credit, is sponsored by the Department of Radiology, VA North Texas Health Care System, with financial and logistical support from Vocada, Inc. André Duerinckx, MD, PhD, chief of radiology, is the course director.
Dr. Brenner is Clinical Professor of Radiology, UCLA School of Medicine and Director of Breast Imaging, Tower Imaging/Eisenberg Keefer Breast Center, John Wayne Cancer Center,
St. Johns Hospital, Santa Monica, California.
The seminar also will be presented remotely on video at The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas.
Studies have shown that the vast majority of errors in radiological care result from communication errors, delays, and failures, rather than mistakes in the diagnosis. Dr. Brenner will discuss those issues and the technological advances that can eliminate communications problems in the health care delivery environment.
