New VoiceLink Product Makes Updating Physician Directories Easy
VoiceLink Sync™ Automates Process
DALLAS, August 16, 2005 – A new product for Vocada's ground-breaking VoiceLink™ medical communications solution ensures that VoiceLink's physician contact information is always as up-to-date as the hospital's information.
VoiceLink Sync™, the VoiceLink Directory Synchronization Service, enables hospitals to synchronize their internal medical staff databases automatically with the core VoiceLink Directory.
"Whenever a hospital updates its physician directory, VoiceLink Sync simultaneously and seamlessly updates the directory information in VoiceLink, as well," said Peter White, CEO and co-founder of Vocada, Inc. "VoiceLink Sync eliminates duplication of effort, delays in updating information, and it reduces the chance for errors."
The web-based feature integrates easily with the hospital's information systems, and like VoiceLink, requires no additional investment in software or hardware, White said. The hospital simply pays a one-time license fee for access to the new product.
The patented VoiceLink system enables a reporting clinician, such as a radiologist or pathologist, to send a verbal report of a critical patient finding to an ordering clinician. As soon as the verbal report is created, the ordering clinician receives an alert and can retrieve the report by phone.
The system continues to send alerts until the report is retrieved and notes in the database when a report is received. The reporting clinician can monitor the process and status of his or her reports via the Web. The entire process, including the original voice recording, is archived and remains searchable for 10 or more years.
Vocada offers VoiceLink as a hosted, on-demand solution and requires no customer investment in hardware or software. It can be accessed from any telephone and/or Internet-connected web browser. The hospital or clinic pays a monthly service fee for VoiceLink, which enables its physicians to use the system.
The growing list of major hospitals now using or about to implement the VoiceLink system includes Albert Einstein Medical Center (Philadelphia), University of Pennsylvania Health System, Memorial Health System (Florida), Kings County Hospital Center (New York), Parkland Health and Hospital System, John Peter Smith Hospital (Fort Worth), Baylor University Medical Center (Dallas), Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas, and USC-LA County Hospital, as well as many others.
